Richmond's Studio is an educational program located in the Phil Mechanic Building in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC.  Founded by artist/ art teacher Richmond Smith and taught by local contemporary Asheville artists, this program is devoted to teaching students the fine arts of drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture amongst other working contemporary artists of Asheville.   The mission of this program is to promote learning of the fine arts using traditional and contemporary techniques in order for the student to create their own unique artwork through this instruction.  More than anything else, our teachers wants to show all students that art is something that can make them happy throughout their entire life.  Not only can they experience this happiness through the process of creating new artwork, but each student will come away from a class by looking at the world from a different perspective.
