Sean Pace

Sean Pace -- "Sean Pace's work centers on the problems of nature and culture, focusing these issues through an attention to machines, society, and the politics of perception. He constructs large-scale kinetic machines from industrial products and found objects, and presents his works in public performances. All of his sculptures comment on such topics as public education, societal preoccupations with technological achievement, and the failure of progress to create progress. Pace's ironic titles--Enter Attainment System (2002) and Under Further Scrutiny the World is Still Flat (2002)--capture the artist's own brilliant, indefatigable application of raw, creative energy to achieve an elegant realization of his concepts in aggressive, corroded machines that appear to be models for social resistance."
