Julie Vann-- Night Shift Studio:-- Julie Vann is a performing and visual artist who lives in Asheville, North Carolina. Mostly she does acrylic paintings and illustrations on both canvas and other practical surfaces (most notably, table tops and rain barrels), and designs practical and beautiful accessories of a widely variable nature, ranging from eyeglass cases to tents to rain barrels. Her goal is to make ideas become reality, whether they are her ideas or someone else’s. Thus, she does both original work and custom work as time allows. She is also interested in what she sees as a sort of “arts archaeology”; that is, resurrecting art designs from the past that has apparently been forgotten.

At present, most of her artwork is performance art, and she is does not produce as much tactile art as a commercial artist would. However, she is always interested in discussing and designing new projects, so if you have an artsy idea that you’d like to see happen, stop by!
